What customers say?

“ The attention to every minute detail speaks for itself at this Tenderloin noodle house with a wide selection of broths. The hu tieu mi — pork, shrimp and two kinds of noodles — brings together everything one could want in a single bowl. For a contrast in texture, try the hu tieu nam vang that comes with a crispy fried shrimp pancake. The bun mang vit — duck and bamboo with thin noodles — had a clean tasting broth well-accompanied by a savory fish sauce for dipping. All soups are served with a plate of paddy herbs not seen in other Vietnamese restaurants. Bun Mam is amazing, and essentially a hangover cure. The light blue, 1960s retro decor and local clientele grabbing a bite before or after work made the meal all the more warming — staying true to its culinary genre: Vietnamese comfort food. ”

“ Okay y’all already know the banh mi places that get all the praise in the neighborhood, but let me put you on the REAL best banh mi in SF! This place is the real deal man, it’s been flying under the radar. The pork meatball (banh mi xiu mai) is literally one of the best sandwiches in SF. But on top of that, let me tell you what makes this place standout to its competitors. - The sandwiches here are made with a lot of care, it’s not rushed like other places. Here everything comes evenly assembled, and warm. - it is incredibly CLEAN inside, unlike many places in the TL. Here hygiene is clearly a priority which is a nice change. - The quality of the food is high, and it’s at a unbelievable price. Also the menu has more Vietnamese items that seem phenomenal that I didn’t have a chance to try yet, but I’m sure it’s all good. - You can actually sit inside and eat your food, away from the chaos outside, in a peaceful charming interior. And you can add sauces to your sandwich as you like, and wash it down with a lovely tea. This place is overall so authentic. From the staff working there, the food, everything is so perfect. Really can’t wait to come back to support them and keep enjoying their food. ”

“ We had their Pho Ga, a comforting chicken soup with flat rice noodles, and the Bun Bo Hue, a Central Vietnamese-style beef soup enriched with pork and thin rice noodles. Feeling a bit under the weather, the Pho Ga worked wonders in soothing my body. Generously accompanied by the fresh veggies, as shown in the photo, Pro tip: Be prepared with cash, as it's the only form of payment accepted." ”

“ Cash only, small but clean and tidy restaurant. Price is reasonably. I was craving Bánh Ướt and arrived at this shop. Overall the dish was good. I’m a bit allergic to MSG and felt drowsy soon after. I haven’t tried other dishes or bánh mì. I’ll come back. ”

“ $6 for a toasty, tasty banh mi in SF?! Sign me up!! The rice noodles with pork loaf/ shrimp cake and taro coconut dessert are also a steal! High quality and cheapest prices I've seen in SF. My friend also enjoyed his meatball stew and baguette. ”

“ I can call this place an oasis in Tenderloin! The shop is clean. The staffs are friendly. The food is delicious and cheap in the SF standard with a big portion. I got a kind of noodles that I have never before. It is not Pho or Bun that you find in any other places. It fills with fish, shrimp, and pork for only 15 dollars! Not counting fresh vegetables and unique deep flavor broth! This is will be my standard of Vietnamese food from now on! The dessert here is quite good as well. ”

“ Hidden gem in Bay Area ^^ this Vietnamese restaurant is quite small, but clean, well-organized and bright. The food is delicious. You should try “Bún Mắm” and “Bánh Ướt” here. Affordable price $5-$20 ”

“ This is casual bistro that serve authentic Vietnamese food. My favorite is slow braised pork ball in pork and tomato jus, and mini barguette on the side. Also, Vietnamese drip coffee remind me of the flavor of my hometown ”
